What you are buying

A single pouch divided by a water-repellent fabric wall, so the day-four problem — where does the worn shirt go — has an answer that is not "the bottom of the case".

The worn side is lined in a darker water-repellent fabric that wipes clean. The clean side is the same undyed cotton twill as the packing pouches.

Two separate zips, so opening one side does not expose the other.

Natural variation. Leather is a hide, not a printed sheet. Grain, tone, healed scars and insect marks vary from piece to piece and no two items are identical. Vegetable-tanned leather darkens with light and handling. None of this is a defect and none of it is grounds for us to reject a withdrawal within the statutory period.

Things you should read before buying this

Water-repellent, not waterproof

The finish on this item resists light splashes and brief rain long enough for you to wipe it dry. It is not waterproof.

Seams, zips and stitch holes are not sealed. Do not submerge the item, do not leave it standing in water, and do not use it to carry liquids that must not escape.

The repellent finish wears down with use and can be partly restored with a leather balm.

Care

Wipe with a barely damp cloth and let it air-dry away from heat. Re-treat the water-repellent finish with a leather balm once the surface stops beading.

REACH Annex XVII. Our tanneries certify chromium VI at or below the 3 mg/kg limit for leather articles in contact with skin, and compliance with the azo dye restrictions. Supplier declarations are held on file and are available to authorities on request.
