Every rate, every destination group and every delivery window we offer, published in full. Orders leave our premises in Frankfurt am Main.

Dispatch times
Orders placed before 14:00 CET on a business day are normally picked and dispatched the same or the next business day. Orders placed at a weekend or on a German public holiday are dispatched on the next business day.
Items ordered with blind embossing take an additional 2 to 3 business days before dispatch, because the embossing is done by hand after the order is confirmed. If your order mixes embossed and non-embossed items, the whole order ships together unless you ask us to split it.
Delivery times below are the carrier’s times and run from dispatch, not from the moment you place the order.
Rates and delivery times
| Destination | Standard rate | Delivery after dispatch |
|---|---|---|
| Germany | €4.90 EUR Free from €90.00 EUR | 1–3 business days |
| European Union | €9.90 EUR | 3–6 business days |
| Europe outside the EU | €16.90 EUR | 4–9 business days |
| Rest of world | €24.90 EUR | 7–16 business days |
All rates are shown in euro (EUR) and include German VAT where applicable. The rate that applies to your order is calculated from your delivery country and shown on the checkout page before you are asked to continue to payment. We do not add handling fees, surcharges or fuel levies at any later stage.
“European Union” covers the 26 EU member states other than Germany. “Europe outside the EU” covers the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. “Rest of world” covers the remaining destinations offered at checkout. If your country is not in the checkout list, we do not currently ship there — email support@hmtlederwaren.shop and we will tell you honestly whether we can.
Free shipping threshold
Standard shipping within Germany is free on orders of €90.00 EUR or more, calculated on the goods total including any embossing charge and including VAT, before shipping is added. The threshold does not apply to other destinations and is not combinable with any other shipping promotion.
If you withdraw from part of an order and the retained items fall below the threshold, the standard German shipping rate may be deducted from your refund — see the withdrawal page.
Tracking
Every order ships with a tracked service. You receive a dispatch email with the carrier and tracking number at the address you gave at checkout. Tracking information can take several hours to become active after the email arrives.
Late, missing or damaged parcels
- Late. If the delivery window above has passed by more than three business days, email us with your order reference and we will open a case with the carrier.
- Missing. Where a parcel is confirmed lost in transit, we send a replacement or issue a full refund, at your choice. You do not bear the cost of a carrier losing our parcel.
- Damaged. Photograph the outer packaging before you unpack any further and send us the pictures. Do not discard the packaging until the case is settled.
- Wrong address. If a parcel is returned to us because the address given at checkout was incomplete, we will contact you and re-send it; the second shipping charge is payable.
In every one of these cases your statutory rights, including the right of withdrawal and your rights in respect of defective goods, are unaffected.
Customs, duties and import taxes
Orders to destinations outside the European Union may attract import duty, import VAT and a carrier handling fee on arrival. These charges are set by the destination country, are not included in the price you pay us, and are payable by the recipient.
We declare the true contents and the true value on every customs declaration. We will not mark a shipment as a gift, understate its value, or misdescribe leather goods in order to reduce a duty liability, and we cannot make exceptions to this.
If a parcel is refused or abandoned because the recipient declines to pay import charges, any return shipping and destruction costs charged to us will be deducted from the refund.
Legal and export restrictions
Leather goods are subject to import controls in a number of countries. The following applies to everything we sell:
- Animal products. All leather in this shop is bovine hide obtained as a by-product of the food industry. Some countries — Australia and New Zealand in particular — apply biosecurity controls to animal products and may inspect, treat or refuse entry to a shipment. We supply documentation on request but cannot guarantee entry.
- No CITES-listed species. We do not sell crocodile, python, stingray or any other CITES-listed or exotic skin, and we do not sell fur. No CITES permit is required for our goods.
- Chemical compliance. Our leather is certified to the REACH Annex XVII limit of 3 mg/kg for chromium VI and to the azo dye restrictions. Supplier declarations are held on file for authorities.
- Care products. The leather balm is a wax-based, non-flammable preparation containing no solvents classified as hazardous for consumer supply. Some carriers nonetheless restrict cosmetic and wax preparations by air. If your destination cannot receive it, we will tell you before dispatch and refund that line.
- Sanctions and embargoes. We do not ship to destinations, entities or individuals subject to EU or German export restrictions, and we reserve the right to cancel and refund an order in full where a screening check requires it.
Packaging
Orders ship in plain recycled cardboard with paper void fill. We do not use plastic film, polystyrene or air pillows. Leather items travel in a cotton dust bag where one is included with the product.
Packaging registration (VerpackG)
Under the German Packaging Act (VerpackG), producers who place packaging into circulation in Germany must register with the Central Agency Packaging Register (Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister, LUCID) and participate in a dual system. Registration and licensing for this shop’s packaging is carried out by HMT Lederwaren Import GmbH as operator.
