Terms and conditions
Allgemeine Geschäftsbedingungen (AGB) for purchases from Wegmark, a brand of HMT Lederwaren Import GmbH. These terms apply to every order placed through this site.
Last updated: 12 August 2026
1. Scope and who we are
1.1 These terms govern all contracts concluded through this website between HMT Lederwaren Import GmbH, Eichenstraße 56, 65933 Frankfurt am Main, Germany (“we”, “us”), trading as Wegmark, and you as the customer. Company register and representation details are on the Impressum.
1.2 A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes predominantly outside their trade, business or profession (§13 BGB). An entrepreneur acts in the exercise of their trade, business or profession (§14 BGB). Consumer-specific provisions below apply only to consumers.
1.3 Terms of the customer that conflict with or deviate from these terms are not recognised unless we have agreed to them in writing.
1.4 The contract language is English. Contract text is stored by us and is available on request.
2. What we sell — and what we do not
2.1 We sell physical leather travel accessories: document covers, luggage tags and handle wraps, luggage straps, packing pouches and rolls, wash bags, small body-worn and day-carry pouches, trays, folders and leather care products.
2.2 We are not a travel business
We do not arrange, book, broker, resell or advise on flights, transport, accommodation, tours, transfers, travel insurance or any other travel service, and we hold no licence or authorisation to do so. Nothing on this site is an offer of a travel service or of a package under the Package Travel Directive. We are a retailer of physical goods.
2.3 We do not sell suitcases or large travel bags. We do not operate any subscription, membership, stored value or loyalty points scheme; every item is sold outright, once.
3. How a contract is formed
3.1 The presentation of goods on this site is not a legally binding offer but an invitation to you to place an order.
3.2 By completing the checkout details, ticking the required confirmations and completing the payment step, you submit a binding offer to purchase the items in your bag.
3.3 We confirm receipt of your order by email immediately. That acknowledgement is not yet an acceptance. The contract is concluded when we send a separate dispatch confirmation, or when we dispatch the goods, whichever is earlier.
3.4 We may decline an order — for example where an item is unavailable, where a fraud screening check cannot be resolved, where the delivery address is in a destination we do not ship to, or where a price was displayed with an obvious error. If we decline after payment has been taken, we refund in full without deduction.
4. Prices and payment
4.1 All prices are in euro (EUR) and are final prices including German value added tax at the statutory rate of 19%, in accordance with the Price Indication Ordinance (PAngV). Shipping is stated separately and a link to the full rate table appears next to every price.
4.2 The price that applies is the one displayed at the moment your order is submitted.
4.3 Accepted payment methods, when payment is taken, currency handling and payment security are set out on the payment and security page, which forms part of these terms.
4.4 For deliveries outside the European Union, import duties, import taxes and carrier handling fees may be charged on arrival. These are set by the destination country, are not included in our prices and are payable by the recipient.
5. Delivery
5.1 Rates, destination groups, dispatch times and delivery windows are published in full on the shipping and delivery page, which forms part of these terms.
5.2 Delivery windows run from dispatch and are the carrier’s indications, not guaranteed dates. Items ordered with embossing take an additional 2 to 3 business days before dispatch.
5.3 For consumers, the risk of accidental loss or deterioration passes on handover of the goods to the consumer or a person designated by them. For entrepreneurs, risk passes on handover to the carrier.
5.4 If we cannot deliver because the address given was incorrect or incomplete and the parcel returns to us, we will contact you and re-send it against payment of the second shipping charge.
6. Retention of title
The goods remain our property until payment has been received in full.
7. Right of withdrawal
7.1 Consumers have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The full instruction, the consequences of withdrawal, the return process, who bears the return cost, the refund timescale and the model withdrawal form are on the right of withdrawal page, which forms part of these terms.
7.2 The direct cost of returning the goods on withdrawal is borne by the consumer (§357(6) BGB). Where goods are faulty, wrongly supplied or damaged in transit, we bear the return cost.
7.3 Two statutory exceptions apply in this shop: personalised (embossed) items under §312g(2)(1) BGB, and opened sealed care products under §312g(2)(4) BGB. Both are explained in full on the withdrawal page.
8. Personalised items
8.1 Blind embossing is an optional paid service costing €12.00 EUR per item, limited to 12 characters of Latin letters and spaces — a name or set of initials.
8.2 We do not emboss telephone numbers, addresses, identity or travel document numbers, dates of birth, codes or machine-readable marks. Entries containing digits are rejected by our systems, in the browser and again on the server. This restriction cannot be waived on request.
8.3 An embossed item is manufactured to your specification. Before such an item can be ordered you must confirm, by a separate tick alongside a distinct notice, that the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to it. You are responsible for the spelling you enter; we emboss exactly what is submitted.
8.4 Your statutory rights in respect of defective goods apply in full to embossed items.
9. Warranty for defects
9.1 Statutory warranty law applies. For consumers the limitation period for defects present at delivery is two years from delivery.
9.2 Leather is a natural material. Variation in grain and tone, healed scars, insect marks, and the darkening of vegetable-tanned leather with light and handling are characteristics of the material and are not defects. These are described on every product page.
9.3 Failed stitching, a zip slider that separates, a stud that pulls through, a delaminating finish or hardware that breaks in normal use are defects. Send a photograph and your order reference to support@hmtlederwaren.shop.
9.4 We give no guarantee (Garantie) in the sense of §443 BGB unless one is expressly declared in writing for a specific item.
10. Product descriptions and claims
10.1 Leather designation. Every item states its exact hide, the layer of the hide and the tanning method. Full-grain is described as full-grain, corrected top-grain as top-grain, split leather as split leather, recycled bonded fibre as recycled bonded fibre, and the items that are not leather say so. We never describe split leather or a synthetic material as full-grain.
10.2 Cabin baggage and security rules. For wash bags and transparent pouches we publish external dimensions and internal capacity only. We make no claim that any product complies with the cabin baggage or liquid rules of any authority, airport or carrier, and no claim that any product will be accepted at a security check. Those rules are set independently of us, differ between countries and carriers, and change. It is your responsibility to check the rules applying to your journey. No airline or airport name, code or mark appears anywhere on this site.
10.3 Straps. Load figures for luggage straps are guidance values for normal handling, not rated safety figures. Straps are not security devices and we make no claim that any product prevents theft, tampering or loss. Straps must not be used as lifting, climbing, towing or restraint equipment.
10.4 Water resistance. Where a finish is described as water-repellent, that is what it is. Nothing we sell is waterproof; seams and stitch holes are not sealed and the finish wears down with use.
10.5 Allergies. Tanning agents, dyes and finishes can cause contact allergies in a small number of people. No product is described as hypoallergenic.
10.6 Chemicals and sourcing. Leather is certified to the REACH Annex XVII limit of 3 mg/kg for chromium VI and to the azo dye restrictions; supplier declarations are held on file. All hide is bovine, obtained as a by-product of the food industry. No CITES-listed species, no exotic skins, no fur.
10.7 Intellectual property. All designs are original or generic. No third-party logo, monogram, canvas pattern or brand-imitating design appears in the range.
11. Customer reviews
11.1 We publish reviews only where we can verify that the reviewer placed and received an order for the product being reviewed. Verification is by matching the review to an order record.
11.2 We do not buy reviews, do not incentivise them, do not edit their substance, do not suppress unfavourable ones and do not display a review written about a different product. We do not publish an aggregate rating where no verified review exists — we say so instead.
11.3 We may remove a review that is unlawful, defamatory, contains personal data of a third party, or is not about the product.
12. Promotions and discount codes
12.1 Set prices are lower than the sum of the component items at their current individual prices. Each set page shows the breakdown item by item.
12.2 Where a price is shown as reduced, the reference price is the lowest price actually charged by us for that item in the 30 days before the reduction, in accordance with §11 PAngV. We do not display crossed-out prices that were never charged.
12.3 A discount code states its value, minimum order value, expiry and exclusions at the point of entry. Codes are single-use per customer unless stated otherwise, are not transferable, have no cash value and cannot be applied to an order after it has been placed.
12.4 The free shipping threshold applies to standard delivery within Germany only, is calculated on the goods total including VAT, and is not combinable with another shipping promotion.
12.5 No promotion creates a subscription, a trial that converts, or any recurring charge.
13. Liability
13.1 We are liable without limitation for damages arising from injury to life, body or health, for damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence, under the Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz), and to the extent of any guarantee expressly given.
13.2 In cases of slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation — an obligation whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely — and then only for foreseeable damage typical of this type of contract.
13.3 Any further liability is excluded.
14. Age
Orders may be placed by persons of full legal capacity. If you are under 18, you may order only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
15.1 The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
15.2 For consumers habitually resident in the European Union, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
15.3 Where you are an entrepreneur, a legal person under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes is Frankfurt am Main.
16. Dispute resolution
The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board under the VSBG. We do answer every complaint sent directly to support@hmtlederwaren.shop.
