Cookie policy
What this website stores in your browser, why it stores it, and how to change your mind. There is very little of it and none of it is used for advertising.

The short version
This site stores two items in your browser, both strictly necessary: the contents of your bag, and your answer to the cookie banner. Neither is transmitted to us, neither identifies you, and neither is used for advertising.
Nothing optional is stored unless you press “Accept all cookies”. Closing the banner, scrolling past it or continuing to browse does not count as agreement, and we do not treat it as agreement.
Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting
§25 TDDDG requires that refusing consent be as simple as giving it. Our banner shows “Accept all cookies” and “Reject optional cookies” as two buttons of the same size, in the same place, at the same level of prominence. There is no greyed-out reject link, no extra click required to refuse, and no pre-ticked box anywhere on this site.
Strictly necessary storage
These are set without consent under §25(2) TDDDG, because the service you asked for cannot be provided without them. Both use your browser’s local storage rather than a cookie, which means they are never attached to a network request and never sent to our server.

Optional cookies
If you press “Accept all cookies”, we may set analytics storage that measures which pages are read and which are abandoned, in aggregate, so we can improve them. This measurement does not build a profile of you, is not shared with any advertising network, and is not used to target anything at you anywhere.
If you press “Reject optional cookies”, none of this is set at all — the site does not fall back to a “legitimate interest” argument to run it anyway, and no functionality is withheld from you as a result. The shop works identically either way.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Your choice is stored in your own browser, so you withdraw it by clearing this site’s storage. In most browsers: open the site, then Settings → Privacy → Cookies and site data → See all site data → hmtlederwaren.shop → Delete. The banner reappears on your next visit and you can answer differently.
Clearing site data also empties your bag, because the bag lives in the same place. That is a consequence of not tracking you server-side, and we think it is the right trade.
You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser settings. This site remains fully usable with cookies blocked, except that your bag will not survive a page reload.
Legal basis
- Strictly necessary storage: §25(2)(2) TDDDG — no consent required, because it is strictly necessary to provide the service you expressly requested. Associated processing under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Optional storage: §25(1) TDDDG together with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — consent, which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.

Third-party cookies
We embed no advertising pixels, no social media widgets, no third-party fonts loaded from an external host, no chat widget and no session recording tool. Fonts and images are served from this domain.
When you reach the payment step, the payment service provider may set cookies strictly necessary to process the transaction and to meet its own fraud prevention and strong customer authentication obligations. Those cookies are set by that provider under its own privacy notice, and they are unavoidable in the sense that a card payment cannot be taken without them.
