Payment methods we accept
The following payment methods are accepted for orders in this shop:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- SEPA Direct Debit
- Bank transfer (SEPA)
The methods actually offered to you at the payment step depend on your delivery country and on the payment service provider configured for this shop. Every method available to you is shown before you are asked to confirm anything, together with its cost — we do not add a surcharge for using any particular card or method.
Payment step configuration
Payment processing for this shop is provided by a licensed payment service provider configured by the operator. The checkout page collects your delivery details and shows your full order total, and the encrypted payment step follows it. Nothing is charged, and no card details are requested, before that step.
When you are charged
- Cards. The full amount is authorised when you confirm the order and captured when the order is dispatched. Where authorisation and capture happen on different days you may see a pending authorisation on your statement in the meantime.
- SEPA Direct Debit. Collected after you confirm the mandate at checkout, normally within two business days. You receive advance notice of the collection date and amount by email.
- Bank transfer. The order is reserved when placed and dispatched once cleared funds arrive. Unpaid transfer orders are released after seven days.
A failed or reversed payment does not cancel your statutory rights; it simply means the order is not dispatched until payment is settled.
How prices are shown
Every price on this site, everywhere it appears, is the final price a consumer pays for the goods: it includes German value added tax (MwSt.) at the applicable statutory rate of 19%. This is the requirement of the German Price Indication Ordinance (Preisangabenverordnung, PAngV) and we apply it to product pages, search results, the bag, the checkout summary and every promotional statement.
Shipping is not included in the item price. It is stated separately, a link to the full shipping rate table sits next to every price on the site, and the exact amount for your destination is shown in the checkout summary before you continue. Import duties and taxes for destinations outside the EU are described on that same page.
Free standard shipping applies within Germany from €90.00 EUR on the goods total.
Currency
All prices are in euro (EUR). We write the currency out in full next to every amount — for example €39.00 EUR — rather than relying on the symbol alone, because the euro symbol is used with different conventions in different countries.
We charge in euro only. If your card or bank account is held in another currency, your issuer performs the conversion at its own rate and may add a foreign transaction fee. That conversion and any such fee are between you and your issuer; we neither set nor receive them, and a refund is always issued in euro for the euro amount originally charged.
Security of your payment data
- Encryption in transit. The entire site, including the checkout and the payment step, is served over HTTPS using TLS. HTTP Strict Transport Security is enabled, so browsers refuse to connect to this domain without encryption.
- Strong customer authentication. Card payments in the European Economic Area are subject to strong customer authentication under PSD2. Depending on your bank you may be asked to confirm the payment in your banking app or by a one-time code.
- Transport security headers. The site sets a strict referrer policy, content-type sniffing protection and frame protection, so its pages cannot be silently embedded in a third-party page to capture what you type.
- No card data in email. We will never ask you for a full card number, a CVC or an online banking password by email or telephone. If you receive such a request claiming to be from us, it is not from us — please forward it to support@hmtlederwaren.shop.
PCI DSS and what we never see
Any business that processes, transmits or stores payment card data must comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Card details entered at the payment step are transmitted directly to a PCI DSS certified payment service provider and are processed on that provider’s systems.
HMT Lederwaren Import GmbH does not see, handle or store your full card number, expiry date or security code at any point. What reaches us is limited to the information we need to fulfil and account for the order: the card scheme, the last four digits, an authorisation result and a transaction reference. There is no database in this shop that contains a card number, because no card number ever arrives here.
Fraud screening
Orders are screened automatically for indicators of payment fraud, and a small number are held for manual review. Where an order is held we email you the same day. If we cannot verify an order we cancel it and refund it in full rather than dispatch it — we would rather lose the sale than have a stranger’s card charged for it.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in preventing payment fraud and chargebacks. Details are in the privacy policy.
Invoices and VAT
A VAT invoice is emailed with the dispatch confirmation for every order and is also available on request at any time. It shows the net amount, the VAT rate and amount, the gross total and our VAT identification number as published on the Impressum.
Business customers in another EU member state who supply a valid VAT identification number before the order is dispatched may be invoiced under the reverse charge procedure. Contact us before ordering; we cannot apply it retrospectively once an order has been invoiced.
Discounts and promotions
Where we run any promotion, the following applies without exception:
- Set prices. The three sets are cheaper than their component items bought separately. Each set page shows the full breakdown item by item, at the prices those items are sold for on this site today. There are no invented “original” prices.
- Reference prices. If a price is ever shown as reduced, the reference price is the lowest price we actually charged for that item in the 30 days before the reduction, as required by §11 PAngV. We do not display a crossed-out price that was never charged.
- Discount codes. Any code states its value, its minimum order value, its expiry date and what it cannot be combined with, at the point where you enter it. Codes are single-use per customer unless stated otherwise and have no cash value.
- Free shipping threshold. Applies to standard delivery within Germany only, is calculated on the goods total including VAT, and is not combinable with another shipping promotion.
- No subscriptions, no auto-renewal. This shop sells goods outright. There is no membership, no trial that converts into a paid plan, no store credit and no points scheme. Nothing you buy here will ever charge you again by itself.
